Section Introduction “Section Introduction—Audiences”

Diehl provides an overview of the ten essays found in the Audience section of the Handbook. He briefly indicates how these vary on the audience dimension, specifically by course-level (undergraduate vs. graduate), course size (small vs. large), audience characteristics (e.g., military, adult learners), and interface between instructor background and student audience (e.g., instructors from the Global South teaching students from the Global North). Individual chapters are placed along one or more of these dimensions.
