Effects of Emotional Intelligence on Entrepreneurial Intention Among Women in Tunisia

In recent years and in terms of gender equality, much has been said about the development of women entrepreneurs in Tunisia and everything has been done to understand all the factors that can explain the intention to start a business, but this topic remains relatively little explored. Well understood. Emotional intelligence has garnered significant interest in both scientific circles and among the public in recent years. However, the relationship between emotional intelligence and individual differences in entrepreneurship has not yet been explored. The purpose of our study is to develop emotional skills to foster entrepreneurial intentions in Tunisian women. Purpose & Research question: This research delves into emotional; intelligence’s contribution to entrepreneurial intention among women to identify leading factors that shape this intention. By examining emotional intelligence’s impact, this study sheds light on under-researched aspect of entrepreneurship. The main questions: What impact does emotional intelligence have on fostering entrepreneurial intention among women in Tunisia? Which essential antecedents play a significant role in this association? The purpose of our study is to provide targeted development and training programs that empower emotional intelligence skills among Tunisian women to effectively navigate the challenge, obstacles and achieve sustainable success. Methodology approach: The contribution of emotional intelligence to entrepreneurial intention among women was first identified using a qualitative approach a study,8 semi-structured interviews were then carried out to identify the antecedents of entrepreneurial intention. Secondly a confirmatory step, a questionnaire was administrated to 120 women with intention to create business. The collected data was processed and analyzed using SPSS. (Recent edition) with the objective to identify patterns and relationship between variables under investigation. Finding: The results emphasize the mediating role of self-efficacy between the dimensions of emotional intelligence and entrepreneurial intention. The dimensions of emotional intelligence influence the development of entrepreneurial intentions in Tunisian women by affecting their ability to identify and understand their own emotions; as well as those of others. These skills play a critical role in decision-making, communication, problem solving, and building relationships that are critical to business success.
