Empirical Study on the Influence of Charismatic Leadership on Job Competency in the Gig Economy Environment
摘要
In the gig economy environment, managing employees with side hustles has become a key issue in corporate human resource management. This study uses PLS-SEM method to reveal that charismatic leadership positively affects employees’ competency in their full-time jobs by promoting dedication to work and reducing the process of depersonalization. Moreover, the study finds that compared to enhancing employees’ dedication to work, charismatic leadership is more effective in enhancing employees’ job competency by reducing depersonalization. This research expands the applicability of the theory of charismatic leadership in the gig economy environment and provides theoretical support for managing employees with side hustles in this context.
