Traffic Flow Characteristics of Toll Station Sections Based on NaSch Model

摘要

The toll station section is the bottleneck of the expressway and a section prone to traffic congestion. Based on the cellular automaton Nagel-Schrekenberg traffic flow model, referred to as the NaSch model, a cellular automaton traffic flow model including toll station sections was established. Under periodic boundary conditions, numerical simulation research methods were used to study the impact of toll detention time and on-site paid vehicle proportion coefficient factors on traffic flow. Research results show that the greater the toll detention time T and the on-site pay vehicle proportion coefficient ƒ, the more serious the traffic congestion will be, the smaller the traffic flow will be, and the smaller the average speed will be. The research results provide some reference value for further establishing methods to improve the traffic capacity of toll station bottleneck sections and for the reasonable setting of toll station roads.
