Point-of-Care with Intelligent Nanobiosystem

New technological developments in the fields of electronics and nanosensors over the last decade have opened a new horizon in the field of biomedical diagnostics and management for both communicable and non-communicable diseases. The technological developments have prompted several groups to develop various types of sensors, diagnostic tools, and techniques in its possible miniature form for the detection of infectious and non-infectious diseases. One such example in the non-infectious diagnosis and management includes the diabetes diagnosis and management, where various types of miniature sensors have been designed, in multiple stages of approval, and marketed both at the clinics and at-home destinations. The recent infectious diseases, which contribute a tremendous global burden on human morbidity and mortality, including the country’s economy, with an outbreak of Zika virus infection, accurate detection, diagnosis, and rapid management is required for the early treatment strategies. Emerging POCT may be used in primary, secondary, and tertiary care settings, and it provides a wide range of benefits like as easy diagnosis, small sample sizes, lower costs, and quick processing times. Including these advantages, with few difficulties, this chapter focuses on the technological developments for accurate diagnosis and management.
