Magical Ecology: A Grand Abstraction for Connecting Our Bodies to Our Environment

  • Peter Appelbaum

摘要

This chapter constructs a theory of embodied education-action by interweaving David Abram’s ideas about magicians and shamans who live and work on the margins of their communities with Nicholas Ng-a-Fook’s method of interrogating artifacts of everyday life as a curriculum. Ecocultural architects, scientists and artists can use arts-based community-based public pedagogies that begin with any artifact analysis for moving into civic and global engagement.
