The Analytic Phase

Although the phases of currere are not constrained by rigidly following them in a linear fashion, the analytic phase builds on the regressive and progressive phases by exploring how the artifact came to be here in the way we are experiencing it. How does that matter for now? What is the history of this artifact and how does that matter? What is the way in which the world has brought this artifact to this moment? Who has made it? Out of what? What are the environmental, cultural, sociological, political, etc., effects of its use?
