In response to escalating environmental concerns, a profound shift toward sustainable materials has spurred intense exploration into bioplastics as an alternative to conventional plastics. This comprehensive review critically assesses the life cycle analysis (LCA) of bioplastics vis-à-vis conventional plastics, providing an expansive overview of their sustainability perspectives. Drawing on recent empirical studies and industry examples, this chapter aims to comprehensively evaluate environmental impact, economic viability, technological challenges, and practical applications of bioplastics.
