‘European Sovereignty’ in Times of Poly-Crises: From Original Manifestations to Points of Concern
摘要
As war rages in Europe, it has become common to enumerate the manysimultaneous crises currently occurring, many of them following in the wake of thewar. These include crises related to the economy, migration flows, energy, climate, and eventually may possibly include a social and/or solidarity crisis. With that background, this chapter first touches upon some of the original manifestations of theconcept of ‘European sovereignty’. The focus then turns to Danish developmentsregarding ‘sovereignty’ as an example of where at least some barriers to a strengtheningof ‘European sovereignty’ may exist, since at least some Member States maybe hesitant to see such a development. Finally, the chapter concludes by raising someother, more general points of concern.
