摘要

Over the years, the reckless use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers has significantly harmed the ecosystem. However, with the projected increase in food consumption in the coming years, more productive and efficient agriculture is necessary. Recent research has shown that plant growth-promoting microorganisms (PGPMs) can be a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to chemical products. The effectiveness of PGPM applications can vary due to the complex relationships formed with various living and non-living elements, such as the environment, soil, and microorganism interactions. This chapter highlights certain applications suitable for an “agroecological transition” and looks at the key variables affecting the effectiveness of PGPM applications.
