Harnessing Biosurfactants from Soil Bacteria: Advancing Green Technology for Environmental Sustainability
摘要
Green technologies are being revolutionized by surface active compounds produced by bacteria called biosurfactants that significantly lower surface tension between two phases. These biosurfactants are biodegradable, less toxicic and often obtained from renewable sources, making them highly eco-friendly. Soil bacteria stand out as excellent producers of biosurfactants because they can easily adapt to different environments due to their high metabolic diversity. This chapter explores the essential properties, biosynthesis, applications in green technologies, and environmental impact of biosurfactants. It aims to demonstrate how exploitation of soil bacteria can provide ecological solutions and contribute to a sustainable future. Progress requires interdisciplinary collaboration and continuous innovation.
