摘要

The soil microbiome, influenced by various edaphic factors, plays a pivotal role in environmental sustainability, particularly in the context of emissions reduction. Edaphic factors such as soil texture, pH, organic matter content, moisture, temperature, and nutrient availability profoundly affect microbial community composition and function. Green technologies, including biochar application, organic amendments, reduced tillage, cover cropping, and precision agriculture, can optimize these edaphic factors to enhance the soil microbiome’s capacity for carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas mitigation. This study reviews the intricate relationships between soil microbiomes, edaphic factors, and green technologies, highlighting how integrated soil management practices can effectively reduce emissions, promote sustainable agriculture and environment which automatically results in the development of strategies to leverage soil microorganisms for environmental benefits, thus, addressing one of the most pressing challenges of the world.
