Office-Based Blue Laser Therapy of Vocal Fold Varices and Other Vascular Lesions
摘要
Vascular lesions of the vocal fold can cause dysphonia through hemorrhage and subsequent scar, intermittent engorgement altering vocal fold mass and vibratory characteristics, mass effect on the vibratory margin, or through other mechanisms. Treatment with CO2 laser often was complicated by scar or lesion recurrence. The affinity of blue laser for oxyhemoglobin makes the blue laser ideal for precise treatment of vascular lesions, and the instrument can be used easily and effectively in awake patients in an office setting.
