Agrivoltaics Potential in Bosnia and Herzegovina Vineyards

The production of healthy food and clean energy represents one of the greatest challenges today. Ongoing climate changes significantly affect agricultural production, leading to substantial efforts being invested in agrotechnical measures aimed at enhancing food production. Some of these measures include the installation of photovoltaic panels above crops, which not only provide plant protection but also generate clean energy. Generally, high-capacity photovoltaic power plants require vast land areas, and using photovoltaic panels as agrotechnical measures offers dual benefits for food production and clean energy. This study analyzes the potential of installing photovoltaic power plants in vineyards in Bosnia and Herzegovina, identifying possible capacities for electricity generation. Additionally, the potentials of floating photovoltaic power plants on lakes in Bosnia and Herzegovina are compared, and their production is analyzed in the context of the overall annual electricity consumption in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
