摘要
Following trade reforms and the initiation of the National Horticulture Mission in 2005–2006, floriculture has emerged as a pivotal commercial venture in Indian agriculture. This study delves into an analysis aimed at identifying and evaluating India's comparative advantage and competitiveness in the global market for floriculture products. Furthermore, it scrutinizes India's trade relations with 25 key export destinations in floriculture from 2005 to 2022. The Balassa Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) index is employed to gauge India's comparative advantage in floriculture product exports. Vollrath indices are utilized to assess the revealed competitiveness of India's floriculture trade, while the Trade Intensity Index (TII) is applied to ascertain the extent of bilateral trade between India and major floriculture export markets. The study highlights the vast scope of floriculture trade development worldwide and concludes with probable suggestive strategies to improve export performance and overcome the challenges of the Indian floriculture trade.
