Empirical Algorithm for Estimating Ultraviolet Index Values

The objective of the research is to obtain an empirical algorithm to estimate values of the ultraviolet index for clear skies. Considering a model that depends on the cosine variable of the zenith angle, the ozone layer in UD units for the place and date. For the implementation of the algorithm, the MATLAB GUI was used using editable text and button options to carry out calculation processes and graphics. Concluding, it is possible to obtain an empirical algorithm based on an empirical equation which consisted of implementing a graphical interface to estimate the values of the ultraviolet index.
