The oil and gas industry in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region is experiencing a fundamental transition, fueled by the inexorable march of digital technology. This research study investigates significant facts regarding the oil & gas industry in the (GCC) countries and investigates the impact of digitalization on this critical sector. Following an investigation of current research on digital transformation & its applications in the GCC oil & gas industry, this article provides an overview of the significant digital transformation projects implemented by gulf corporations. Specific examples demonstrate how businesses utilize technology such as real-time data analysis, artificial intelligence, and automation to streamline operations, increase efficiency, and make major improvements in performance. Furthermore, it explores deeper into the unique potential that digital transformation presents for GCC oil & gas firms, concentrating on cutting expenses, enhanced sustainability, and exploration & production efficiency. However, the journey to digitization is not without challenges. The study addresses both worldwide and GCC-specific sector challenges, such as talent acquisition, cybersecurity issues, and cultural transformations. Strategies for dealing with these difficulties are also presented.
