Through the utilization of renewable energy sources to power data centers and other computer infrastructure, digital technologies can help to promote sustainability. Digital technologies can also support more sustainable agriculture methods, intelligent energy grids, and efficient transportation systems. Waste management and reduction are crucial elements of sustainability. By allowing recycling and resource sharing, digital technology can aid in the reduction of waste. Online markets and sharing platforms, for instance, can facilitate more effective use of commodities and services while lowering the need for wasteful purchases. Digital technology could also significantly contribute to the advancement of sustainability and the reduction of the effects of climate change.
