Optimized Adaptive Dynamic Curriculum Roadmap Suggestion and Analysis for University Students

摘要

A term-wise course plan is considered as a crucial factor in the timely graduation of a student. The graduation rate of the University relies on the number of students who graduated in-time. The proposed system provides the course plan for the fresher, sophomore, senior and the graduate students in the University. This course plan is the road map to successfully get graduated in-time. The course plans are provided for the student of The Public Authority of Applied Education and Training (PAAET), Kuwait. Timely graduation requires the student to enroll for the course in right time as the courses are tied together with pre-requisites and co-requisites. The concept of Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAG) from Graph theory is used for representing the courses in a major in a networked structure. An optimization algorithm is constructed based on the cruciality factor and topological sorting of the network. The algorithm also generates the difficulty of courses selected for that semester and shows a heat map for the different difficulty ranges of the courses. Different topological sorts of the network give the solution for every semester. The highlight of the algorithm is its adaptability to the current course selections and suggest an optimized course choice for the future semesters and indicate the delay in graduation as early as in semester 3 as an alarm for the students.
