Green Building Drivers for Project Stakeholders: A Proof of Concept Study
摘要
Green Buildings (GBs) are being increasingly adopted for their reduced environmental impact and contribution towards health and well-being. These buildings are developed under the influence of driving factors such as building regulations and low life cycle costs. Understanding the relevance of these drivers for project stakeholders is critical as it can help align stakeholder goals with project goals. In this proof-of-concept study, using the findings from 24 semi-structured interviews conducted with GB experts in Australia, the UK, the UAE, and Pakistan, drivers of GB development are identified and their relevance for project stakeholders is established. GB drivers relevant to government, developers, building owners, building occupants, and project teams are identified. Many identified drivers are associated with project developers. Significant number of GB drivers are also associated with owners and occupants. Findings of this study will contribute to the theoretical understanding of stakeholder interest in GB projects. In practical terms, the study findings will help the management of stakeholder interests in the development of GB projects.
