Dashboard Development for the Quality Department of a Company from the Automotive Industry

The digitalisation of the automotive industry has led to an increase in the volume of data, making it difficult to analyse and interpret. To address this situation, managers have turned to dashboards that provide quick access to relevant information to support decision making. This study focuses on the development of a dashboard for the quality department of a company from the automotive industry. Through data collection, performance indicators were identified, constraints were addressed, and plans were developed. The dashboard, comprising a main interface and three additional interfaces, was designed using Power BI. Besides meeting the quality department’s requirements, it serves as the foundation for a larger dashboard module within a manufacturing execution system (MES). Employee involvement ensured the dashboard’s relevance and effectiveness. Additionally, the dashboard offers cost-effective benefits for the organization and serves as a prototype for what the MES should automatically produce.
