A Spatial Daisyworld Model

We present a simple spatial implementation of the classic Daisyworld model, similar to a cellular automaton. The spatial version reproduces well the standard scenario with hysteresis cycles, and allows for a more physical implementation of the diffusion of temperature. It allows also to examine spatial behaviors, in particular the difficulty of colonization of territory by a more adapted species. This element, coupled to a finite velocity of the variation of luminosity of the sun, induces the appearance of new hysteresis cycles that reduce the adaptation capacity of the system. Mutations do not increase stability and may enhance the spurious hysteresis cycles.
