Fragility of Bulk Metallic Glass-Forming Liquids
摘要
The notion of a continuous slowdown of the kinetics of the supercooled liquid during undercooling was introduced in Chap. 6 . In Chap. 7 , viscosity and relaxation measurements of ultra-high viscous liquids lead to a clear picture of the kinetics slowdown in BMG-forming liquids that does not follow the Arrhenius law at deep undercooling. Here we connect the degree of departure of the liquid kinetics observed in metallic glass-formers from the Arrhenius law with the kinetic fragility concept, which was made popular by Austen Angell.
