This study explores the transition from higher education to the workforce in Sabah, Malaysia. It examines the relationship between employer expectations and graduate satisfaction in both public and private institutions in Sabah. This study aims to identify the specific skills and attributes that employers are looking for in graduates and determine whether these expectations are being met. It also investigates the relevance of educational curriculum, industry-specific competencies, and soft skills in employability. The findings of the study have important implications for higher education institutions, policy makers, and employers, providing recommendations to improve the employability of graduates in Sabah. By aligning education with job market demands and developing critical competencies, Sabah can improve the success of its graduates and contribute to economic growth.
