A Study on Anxiety and Depression Among the Students of Higher Education in Bengaluru, India

Anxiety and depression are common mental health issues of youngsters due to personal issues and academic overload. This study examines the Depression and Anxiety of the students of higher education by collecting the data using the questionnaire of PHQ-9 and GAD-7. The PHQ-9 and GAD-7 questionnaires are widely acceptable to examine mental health. Although anxiety is a common and usually appropriate reaction to a threat, it can also become maladaptive under specific conditions. It's important to distinguish anxiety disorders from stress reactions when anxiety could play a significant role. A prevalent mental illness, depression affects the majority of young people and is often caused by a variety of personal issues. Globally, depression remains one of the most major mental health disorders with several facets and prevalence. Among college students, anxiety and depression are major mental health issues that affect social interactions, academic achievement, and general well-being. The purpose of this review is to present a thorough overview of the prevalence, contributing variables, outcomes, and therapies associated with anxiety and depression in college students.
