Digitalization enhances efficiency, productivity and innovation by connecting digital technologies into the activities, processes and business models of an organization. Institutional factors such as supportive policies, regulatory frameworks and organizational culture enable organizations to adopt and use digital technologies, thus shaping their success and competitiveness in the digital age. Global research on digitalization and institutional factors has been constantly increasing in recent decades. In this study, a bibliometric analysis of 34 publications on digitalization and institutional factors as success factors for organization indexed in Scopus and published from 1994 to 2023 is conducted to unveil the research trends of digitalization and institutional factors as both aspects of organization. The 38 documents that have received a total of160 citations. The paper titled “The Alignment between Organizational Critical Success Factors and Information Technology Capability in Academic Institutions” by Sabherwal R. and Kirs P., published in the year 1994 has been the most cited documents in this subject area. Additionally, the Frontiers in Psychology stands out as the most active source with 2 documents published. These results underscore the significance and importance of pivotal research contributions in the digitalization and institutional factors research domain. Among the plethora of keywords analyzed, "organizational performance" "institutional framework" and "entrepreneurial culture" emerge as the most commonly used themes, further emphasizing their centrality in the field. Interestingly, most publication (26%) are co-written by 2 authors, followed by 9 documents co-authored by 4 authors and only 3 documents co-authored by 5 authors. It shows the need for more collaborative efforts within the academic and professional community to enhance the depth and breadth of insights in the field.
