Do We Have Good Schedules for the Projects?

This chapter proposes a new project data management system where researchers can share existing best known solutions for the resource-constrained project scheduling problem with other researchers. The system is designed such that each researcher can download lower and upper bounds for a multitude of projects from various databases, and they can also upload their own solutions. Additionally, the system offers the possibility to generate new projects via a so-called resource dataset, which can be relevant for future research by any researcher. This chapter is based on the article “A tool to test and validate algorithms for the resource-constrained project scheduling problem,” published in Computers and Industrial Engineering.
