Soil Microbiome Bioengineering for Improvement of Soil Health and Fertility
摘要
Synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, which may harm soil ecosystems, upend microbial populations, and worsen environmental pollution, are a staple of conventional farming techniques. In this situation, soil microbiome bioengineering offers a promising alternative, aiming to restore and improve soil health and fertility through various strategies, including the microbial inoculants application, the use of biofertilizers, the manipulation of soil management practices, and the promotion of plant–microbe interactions. This chapter discusses a comprehensive exploration of the emerging field of soil microbiome bioengineering for improving soil fertility and health and experiences of practical and Research examples.
