Not only this, the healthcare sector has been traumatized the most. A huge avalanche of patients, the burden of losing lives, stagnancy in the medical training, and the scarcity of workers as well as inadequately equipped infrastructure have complicated the condition altogether. Healthcare workers (HCWs) are 33 times more susceptible to get COVID-19 infection as compared to the general population (Avadhutha, Hyderabad: Health workers 33 times at high risk of Covid infection). COVID-19 produced challenges for the specialists specifically in the emergency room, intensive care, and pulmonary medicine, releasing the overload on other specialties; however, workers in other specialties were re-deployed to cater to the needs of widening pandemic.
