Futuristic Instruments for Neurosurgery

This chapter summarizes our recent activities in the neurosurgical laboratory in Baghdad, Iraq. The neurosurgical laboratory was formally established in 2016 based on personal funding resources. The primary goal was to train young neurosurgeons in the basic manual skills needed to practice neurosurgery and then pass through more advanced micro neurosurgical techniques, including using all UpSurgeOn® simulators. From the detailed and meticulous training, we came up with new concepts regarding the use and design of the surgical instrumentation (Faraj MK, Surg Neurol Int. 13:402, 2022).
