Overvaluation of Shape and Weight Module
摘要
Overvaluation of shape and weight (i.e., judging oneself predominantly or even exclusively in terms of shape and weight) is encountered in over 50% of patients with binge eating disorder (BED). It needs to be addressed by the treatment because it contributes to maintaining binge-eating episodes and predicts a negative treatment outcome in BED patients. This module addresses the overvaluation of shape and weight through a personalized set of specific strategies and procedures that include the creation of the personal formulation of overvaluation of shape and weight and how to address societal pressures, the marginalization of other life domains, shape checking, and shape avoidance.
