A Smart City Model Based on Artificial Intelligence for Disaster Risk Management in the Arabic Countries
摘要
All of the Arabic countries face the increasing of sustainability problems associated with the pressure from population growth, environmental degradation, natural and man-made disasters and hazards (mainly due to the climate change). Integrating disaster risk reduction into the development activities using intelligent technologies and procedures is an important theme for confronting these disasters and hazards that have devastated a large number of worldwide countries, especially in the Arabic countries. Accordingly, these disasters and hazards have set back progress in the development activities of these countries. Consequently, some of these countries try to provide flexible prevention measures for protecting their citizens and national economic sectors from the effects of these disasters and hazards. However, Most of these countries are limited in their ability to integrate effectively a smart city model for reducing the impacts of these disasters and hazards. This paper presents an efficient disaster risk management decision support system based on this smart model that provides effective urban solutions for confronting these disasters and hazards. These solutions try to reduce the risk of these disasters and hazards, while achieving sustainable development goals in Syria. A practical example of applying this smart model is presented to deal with flood risk management in the Syrian coastal region. This model could be applied and developed further to deal with all the other disasters and hazards in Syria, and in the Arabic countries.
