Science-Based Entrepreneurship
摘要
This chapter analyzes how science-based entrepreneurship, known as spin-offs, is crucial for the development and transfer of technology to the market. Although they face unique challenges, such as technical and commercial risks, these ventures can offer concrete solutions and contribute to the market. A balanced and multidisciplinary entrepreneurial team, along with the assessment of commercial viability, are fundamental to success. In addition, it is essential to have entrepreneurial capabilities and a team with business experience and commercial knowledge. Factors such as proximity to research centers, access to financing, quality of life, adequate infrastructure, and a favorable business environment also influence these ventures. On the other hand, the importance of the shareholders’ agreement and the exit for science-based ventures is discussed, regulating the interaction between partners and allowing the monetization of investments.
