Sustainability as Strategy: The New Competitive Edge for Bahrain's SMEs
摘要
This research investigates how sustainability practices are incorporated into Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Bahrain and assesses the effects of these practices on company performance and social well-being. A sophisticated knowledge of sustainability's function in SMEs was achieved by synthesizing comparative and alignment research, plus argumentative debates, via a thorough literature analysis. The technique included examining secondary data from academic studies, industry reports, and sustainability surveys tailored to Bahrain's economic and cultural environment. SMEs in Bahrain are becoming more conscious of sustainability's significance. However, obstacles such limited resources, lack of experience, and inadequate government assistance impede its broad implementation. Those that have adopted sustainable methods see increased operational efficiency, greater relationships with stakeholders, and better compliance with regulations. The article suggests that Bahraini SMEs may attain economic resilience, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility by implementing sustainable strategies. Recommendations emphasize the need of improved support systems, customized sustainability frameworks, and cooperative endeavours among stakeholders to address obstacles and maximize advantages. Future research should prioritize empirical studies to investigate the dynamic link between sustainability efforts and SME success in Bahrain's distinct economic environment.
