摘要

Remote physical rehabilitation for patients affected by neurological diseases is a promising research line, contributing to improving healthcare delivery, addressing the shortage of qualified staff, and enhancing the quality of life for patients. This paper presents a proposal for a remote rehabilitation system based on the use of Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality, designed to be highly accessible and scalable. The system comprises two applications: the patient application, which allows the recognition and evaluation of physical rehabilitation exercises, and the therapist application, that enables the assignment of personalised rehabilitation routines and the generation of automatic recommendations to adapt these routines according to the patient’s progress level. The design aspects of the architecture are discussed, considering those that impact the scalability of the proposal when making it accessible to patients requiring remote physical rehabilitation.
