摘要

The management of a child or adolescent suffering from one or more allergic diseases cannot be separated from the appropriate consideration of the good rules to follow in everyday life. The chapter will first address the importance of virtuous relationships among the pediatrician, the specialist, and the family. It will continue with the analysis of the management of children suffering from atopic dermatitis, food allergy, respiratory allergy, severe asthma, and rhinitis in his/her daily life. The most important moments of the child’s life will be taken into consideration, whether at home, at school, during sport activities, and in canteens. The article will distinguish the case of children and adolescents. The chapter ends with an analysis of socialization, outlining the rules to follow in order to overcome difficulties and dangers outside the domestic environment. The aim is to encourage normal socialization and avoid parents’ fears leading to excessive protectionism.
