摘要

Food allergies in children are a common concern that are defined as adverse immune responses to food proteins. Common food allergens in children include cow’s milk, hen’s eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, fish, and shellfish. The diagnostics of food allergies in children often involves a comprehensive evaluation of medical history, physical examination, and a specific allergy workup. The management of food allergies in children primarily revolves around strict avoidance of allergenic foods. This includes carefully reading food labels, educating family members, teachers, and other caregivers about the child’s allergy, and ensuring that the child has a safe and allergen-free environment. Moreover, professionals of healthcare should prescribe emergency medications, including epinephrine auto-injectors in children at risk of anaphylaxis. Tolerance induction protocols are currently recommended, in specific cases only, in children suffering from cow’s milk, egg, or peanut allergy.
