Exploration of Teaching Mode for Cultivating Students’ Scientific Thinking Ability

The development of modern information technology has brought about significant impacts on people's thinking, production, and learning methods. The learning time and space for students’ knowledge acquisition have been significantly expanded, which has spurred the development of new forms of teaching. The course of Engineering Design Graphics is a compulsory foundational subject. In the context of the enhanced undergraduate education objectives in the new era, engineering graphics aims to cultivate new-generation engineering and technological talents with stronger graphic abilities, engineering qualities, and innovative awareness. In meeting the goal of providing students with a solid foundation of professional knowledge, the focus of this study is on how to enhance undergraduate students’ innovative consciousness, broaden their thinking, equip them with the ability to identify and solve problems based on the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) philosophy. The aim is to deepen and flexibly apply knowledge while instilling in students a fundamental scientific research mindset. The deep integration of comprehensive practice and classroom teaching will be one of the important pathways to cultivate students’ innovative abilities and establish a scientific mindset.
