Teleconsultations in Primary Healthcare Centres in the Kingdom of Bahrain During the COVID-19 Pandemic and Its Aftermath

In Bahrain, family physicians in Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCCs) face challenges due to deficiencies in teleconsultation skills and knowledge. To address this, online questionnaires were used to evaluate gaps and training needs among 185 respondents (69.3% response rate). Results showed that 90% of physicians practiced teleconsultation, with 31% having received training. Training and satisfaction significantly influenced teleconsultation knowledge and practice (p < 0.001) in Table 5 The study highlighted a strong desire (96.7%) among physicians for further training, emphasizing the importance of tailored workshops to enhance telemedicine quality and satisfaction. Overall, Bahraini physicians exhibit positive attitudes toward telemedicine, underscoring the potential for ongoing improvement through targeted education and support.
