Exploring the business challenges within the companies in the energy and utility sector of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) unveils a landscape influenced by dynamic forces and critical issues. This sector, essential for driving the nation's growth and development, confronts various obstacles that impact its operational efficiency and strategic goals. Principal challenges encompass fierce price competition among industry players, intricate processes for collecting payments, rigorous certification requirements, and the nation's economic performance, shaping investment and operational strategies. Additionally, navigating through regulatory ambiguities, political stability concerns, currency value fluctuations, and substantial infrastructure expenses further contribute to the sector's intricacies. Grasping these challenges is pivotal for companies within the UAE's energy and utility sector to devise robust strategies that promote sustainability, encourage innovation, and achieve operational excellence in response to an evolving market environment. A web-based survey was conducted among critical stakeholders responsible for managing businesses in the energy and utility sector, and their feedback was thoroughly examined. The analysis highlighted that the most significant business challenge identified was intense price competition and margin pressures, followed closely by challenges related to obtaining approvals and certifications, acquiring a skilled workforce, and ensuring timely payment collection. Conversely, factors such as the country's economic performance, currency fluctuations, and political stability were the most minor pressing challenges within the UAE context.
