Disentangle the Periphery & Innovation Literature
摘要
Leveraging bibliometric techniques and science mapping, we map the knowledge structure and trends in research about the periphery and innovation nexus. Specifically, we elaborate on how knowledge related to innovation processes in peripheral areas is organized, sourced, and co-created. We start our analysis with a general picture of our corpus, focusing on its network configuration, and then move to the document- and keywords-level of analysis to disentangle the intellectual and conceptual structure of the identified knowledge base. We provide a comprehensive overview of the field's evolution, consolidating key findings and discuss the potentials of a dedicated epistemic community.
