At the same time, climate change, which is currently occurring, has seriously threatened the food security of the global community. Three-dimensional printing is a revolutionary technology whose application in food manufacturing has received high attention. It is believed that 3D food printing could be a potential remedy to curb the issue of not having sufficient and safe food for the growing society. This chapter explores the recent developments in food printing, focusing on addressing the pressing issue of food insecurity. It scrutinizes different food inks introduced in various research and provides a valuable source for future researchers. Finally, the challenges and the future directions of this state-of-the-art technology are discussed.
