With 5 years remaining to meet the UN Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the critical status of food security (SDG Targets 1 and 2) necessitates urgent attention. This chapter offers a comprehensive examination of the issue of food insecurity within this framework, exploring its challenges and innovations in achieving food security. Utilizing a descriptive methodology that includes secondary data analysis and a systematic literature review, the study delves into the multifaceted dimensions of food security, particularly in relation to SDG 2, “End Hunger and achieve Food Security.” This chapter integrates findings from academic research and policy documents to clarify the intricate factors driving global food insecurity and underscores the critical need for effective implementation. The chapter argues that while the UN has established the 2030 Agenda, the true measure of its success lies in its implementation, ensuring availability, accessibility, affordability, and optimal nutritional utilization of resources. Achieving these outcomes is crucial and depends on global cooperation and effective execution strategies. Through critical appraisal, the study identifies key areas for policy intervention to accelerate progress toward ending hunger and achieving food security as envisioned in the UNSDG 2030 Agenda.
