Advanced Topics in Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis

The practice of systematic reviewing continues to develop as existing techniques are refined and new ones emerge. This chapter considers four advanced or more recent developments. There are many advances in meta-analysis and meta-analytic techniques. Although these are not necessarily widely implemented, you may come across them in the literature, or think that they may be helpful in understanding your particular question. As one of the key aims of this book is to arm the reader with as many solutions as possible, we present these as options.
