Lasers in Paediatric Dermatology

Lasers have been widely used in the treatment of many paediatric skin conditions. The use of lasers in the paediatric population carries a different set of clinical challenges; many considerations need to be made before proceeding with the procedure. Factors to consider include the diagnosis, age of the patient, clinical indications for laser, preparation and skin type. In this chapter, we discuss the common indications for lasers in our paediatric population in Asia, along with special tips and considerations when treating this group of patients.
