Intense Pulsed Light for Skin Rejuvenation
摘要
Intense pulsed light (IPL) is one of the most effective modalities for nonablative photorejuvenation. Because of its polychromatic nature, IPL can act on both pigmentary and vascular components in a single exposure, as well as stimulate neocollagenesis to improve skin texture. Bulk heating of dermal collagen may also contribute to contraction and mild tightening. Various techniques have been developed to maximize improvement for various skin types and indications. In the hands of a skilled provider, IPL may treat all visible signs of aging (irregular pigmentation, telangiectasia, fine wrinkles, textural changes, large pores, laxity), resulting in overall improvement with minimal adverse effects and negligible downtime.
