Several churches here in Albay were old and considered heritage, and most of the construction methods in the early times had died together with the previous predecessors of the church builders. With the new construction methods, nowadays, it is the only procedure being adopted and used to repair damaged portions of the old structure, one of which is the Our Lady of the Gate Church, commonly called Daraga Church, which is declared a National Cultural Treasure by National Museum of the Philippines (NM) on October 29, 2007, and Historical Landmark by National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) on August 28, 2009. Lack of knowledge of the previous methods resulted in damage or deterioration of the original fabric of the structure. This study discussed the significance of Our Lady of the Gate Church in its historical, religious, cultural, and architectural aspects. In the implementation, the gaps and limitations in the formulation of the restoration plan also describe the process of restoration of this structure from the conception to the end. The method uses the NHCP process in the implementation, which starts from documentation, gathering data, experimentation, training, and execution. In the documentation process, oral and documented history was used, and in the availability of existing drawings, as-built plans were done with the help of old pictures, and the scheme for restoration was developed. In the process, several problems arose, and finding ways to execute the actual implementation is as perfect as it is, but there are always limitations, especially in weather situations, which is a great consideration in applying lime material. The restoration plays a vital role in this endeavor to keep the structure intact and encourage the administrators and stakeholders to protect it so that it will be passed on to the next generations for them to see its grandeur. Information dissemination and proper documentation play a very important part in this study.

摘要
