Statistical Insight of Investment Trends in the City of Kolkata

The behavioral economic theory depicts the emotional influence on investment strategy. Investment planning process is comprised of identifying goals, investment problems & opportunities, recommendations & individual’s strategies. Now the issue lies on the importance of investment in stock, shares, and mutual funds. A moderate class of people is inclined with stock & share markets to gain a long-term benefit. The primary data have been collected through the study on questionnaire distributed to 350 investors within Kolkata. Initially, as the first attempt, we have analyzed different categorical attributes using principal component analysis to study impact of demographic factors in investment. This review reveals emotional factors of investors & current trend of selecting portfolio, awareness about investment instruments choice.
