Implementation Status of Public Health Informatics
摘要
This chapter provides an overview of Public Health Informatics (PHI) in the context of developing countries. It highlights the use of computer technology, specifically eHealth apps, to improve public health outcomes and addresses the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing these technologies. The chapter emphasizes the significant role of digital devices and eHealth apps in improving long-term health services and healthcare for the general population. These technologies are essential for disease monitoring, disease prevention, preparedness for health issues, and promoting overall population health. It covers a range of factors that influence the feasibility, adoption, cost, penetration, acceptability, and fidelity of eHealth implementation in developing countries. These factors can include technological infrastructure, human resource capacity, funding availability, cultural considerations, and policy support. Understanding these enablers and barriers is crucial for successful implementation and long-term sustainability of eHealth initiatives. It briefly explores the opportunities for future development and the prospects of eHealth in developing countries. This may include discussions on potential advancements in technology, policy changes, capacity-building initiatives, and collaborations that can drive the further adoption and utilization of eHealth apps in these settings.
