Establishing a Business at a Transnational Border

This chapter argues that while Pálína started with meagre means, her businesses were clearly based on general “business-like” principles. It examines how Pálína’s enterprise related to the “private sphere” and consisted of services for the transnational town of Seydisfjördur. Finally, it discusses how this related to Pálína’s lived religion and the presence of “God” in the sources.
